All these people are adults and experts in their areas. Who would be some of Mizzle’s peers, as younger librarians and trainees?
(This is my excuse to showcase some Tales characters)
Fleur - the Newbie. One of the younger orphans brought to the Gallimaufry. She’s convinced the town is a secret pirate ship and is trying to blend in. Elders think she’s doing this to cope with the loss of her family, so have asked the other young folks to play along. Origin: Patty Fleur
Rin - the Big Sister. Despite being only a year older than Mizzle, her calm demeanor and cute pet creature make her a natural for handling the younger kids. Wants to contribute to the Gallimaufry’s primary mission in time, but feels pressured to be a caretaker and stay with the kids. Origin: Rinwell
Malak - the Shy Child. Malak’s cute looks and shy personality make him a favorite of some citizens of the Gallimaufry. He was orphaned at an older age and hasn’t coped with the adaption as well. This makes him uncomfortable with the attention he gets, and he sometimes resents it. Origin: Laphicet
Kat - the Ambitious Adventurer. Kat has read all the storybooks about bold heroes and dangeous adventures and has decided she’s the next in line. She doesn’t chafe against the Gallimaufry’s culture but it’s clear she wants to leave when she’s allowed. Origin: Rutee Katrea
Tek - the Secret Hunter. Like some of the other kids, Tek fantasizes about adventure and danger. But he’s just as much of a scholar. He and his family help keep alive the physical skills the Gallimaufry’s books can’t entirely capture - things like martial arts styles or juggling. Beyond that, he’s read carefully into the library’s texts. He thinks there’s much more buried out there than people have guessed, and he wants to be the first to rediscover it. Origin: Yuteki
