# The Genesys Experience

So what would it look like to play Genesys?

1. There’s a Roll20 game invite in Discord, search for ‘Genesys Roll20’. Join that game.
2. Early orientation on how the dice rolling system works: ability, proficiency, boost, difficulty, adversary, and setback dice. Success, Triumph, Advantage vs. Failure, Despair, Trouble.
3. Decide on a genre (fantasy, space opera, weird war, cyberpunk, etc. come with the game as written, but anything is possible)
4. Customize skills list as needed
5. Generate characters at [Genesys Emporium](https://genesysemporium.com/) and pull into Roll20
6. Play the game!

If anyone feels strongly about one genre over another, you can decide that early.
