So it looks like reply-by-email is working, but only if you get notifications to begin with - you can’t just start a new topic by emailing a magic address. Which is probably fine?

For those who have been frustrated by Roll20’s magic text quoting shenanigans, you can just highlight specific parts of someone else’s post, and there’ll be a ‘Quote’ popover waiting for you. Pretty slick.

That ‘need to be replying to something’ functionality is totally fine, and more than enough for my purposes.
