Anything on the road ahead?
First day: (d8 – Sarah rolls 1) … we run across an interesting sight. A stone statue … the Arch-Magus? Much larger than the Beheaded Statue. Also very … abstract. More like a suit of armor.
Trimaldis try to remember about stories of … oh, a giant statue called [The Stone Guardian]. Dangerous to approach.
Mizzle wants to study more. The Trimaldis wonder if it could supply some enhanced or spare parts. Mizzle tries (but Fumbles). (DM gets an Opportunity) No chisel marks. Getting a few steps closer. Still a half-dozen meters way …
… which is when the Guardian comes up from his kneeling position, and begins to walk toward Mizzle. Mizzle furiously backpedals. Thie Guardian goes back to its position (which was just on dirt and weeds). Mizzle is Shaken.
The Trimaldis would have attacked if a step further, but …

Another Day
Second day: The Trimaldis run the team into danger! The road ahead on the coast has been washed out by rainfall. About 75 feet …
1 IP for some rope! Carry across and loop back. Tie off to a tree on either end. So safer to get across. More rope for safety harness (1 IP). Leave the rope behind.

We run to the rescue (Sara, TB, Mizzle …)
Folks are out by a building, calling to the woods for “Scald”.
“Did you see a fireball come this way?”
“Not really a fireball. It’s Scaldworth. He helps at the forge. He gets exciteable. Bad impulse control. Could unintentionally a risk to others.”
Mizzle makes some eggs, over near the forge building. Signs of fire. Front door unlocked. Kitchen, for egg-making. Sara looking around.

Sara - investigation …
Trimaldis - checking on the eggs, looking for the fireball, prepping their frost gun.
Mizzle comes out with a big pot of scrambled eggs. Goes upwind. We follow.
Get to town … the docks, the large buildings. Ask people if they’ve seen anything.

We spot smoke coming out of a warehouse. People barging out the front door, coughing.
Scaldworth leaping from crate to crate, leaving flame behind.
Mizzle tries to lure with eggs.
FOOD!
Sara tries to convince it there’s more food outside. Scaldweld is a bit too exciteable. Non-Hostile, but … Sara tries to make him an ally. Feeds him. He wants to see everything. HEAT!
Trimaldis – assisting with crufting together some cooling with the freeze magitech gun. Helps Sara endure the heat.
Mizzle using the skillet as a shield.
Trimaldis try to further adjust the magitech gun. Doesn’t work. Redouble effort, drawing on affection for Sara, and makes a snow-mister, making things easier for Sara. Scaldworth trying to grab snowflakes.
Up to the statue in town. Excited, but getting tired. Sits down. Slumps. Napping. More like a warm cat. Fits into the skillet.
Show him off on the way back to the forge to create sympathy. Sara tries to play it up, but can’t quite do so. Some folk are not impressed (while still fighting the warehouse fire)
Trimaldis go help folk with the fire with their frost gun. Succeeds! People suggest they try out for Lady Collins’ competition. Boat crafters? Lady Collins does this big contest for something that can explore the sea.
Forge: blacksmiths outside calling for Scald.
