Finishing lunch. Harland - thanks for bringing back Scaldworth –
Give us a Copper-Headed Club. Bros. Trimaldi are gracious about accepting it. (It can serve as a firestarter, if nothing else.)

They are going into town. Checking in with Artificer’s Guild on how to help with the Big Contest.

Downtime and Bonds:

  • Sara bond? affection wiith Dwyer. “Too silly to let die!”
  • Trimaldis - loyal toward Mizzle, who needs their protection. “Mizzel needs our protection!”
  • Mizzle - affection toward Dwyer.

Mizzle talks with engineers about balloon ideas. Some interest. Maybe after the competition …

Off to the Day Bridge

Getting close to night of the second day, continue walking to get to the bridge … the bridge is beautiful in the sunrise, it is said.

Don’t see it until it’s right on top of us! A group of bats!

Round 1

Mizzle summons their Arcanum – the Neko Monarch appears!
Vampire A - attacks Mizzle and hits!
Sara lets out a howl, from when fighting the wolves. All are +1 Acc.
Vampire B - attacks Sara!
Trimaldis - Ice Cannon at Vampire C – a palpable hit!
Vampire C - Miss the Trimaldis.

Round 2

Trimaldis attacks B - a nice hit!
Vampire A - attacks Sara with Screech but misses.
Sara attacks A with a Prayer Wrap brawl.
Vampire B - attacks Sara with Screech, but misses.
Mizzle - Does a big-ass attack on each. The Neko Monarch is irked. C goes down, the other two are on fumes. And then still gets an action – Pixie attacks A, hits, kills.

Trimaldis - Zap B, take it down.

Sara heals self, Mizzle gets pixie healing. Trimaldis watch the skies.

The Day Bridge

Large stone pillars. Ostentatious. See a Harmony Civil Servant – “No bridge crossing today.”
Why? “So there’s construction work going on?” Didn’t know they were doing any repair work right now. “Um … a giant woke up, told us they were in charge of maintaining the bridge, and its rebuilding sections of the bridge.”

The giant Oriorn.

We go to see the Giant to see if we can help or if he can carry us over.

Definitely big giant on the bridge. Piecing together stones for the bridge.
“Where’s the blue stone?” Mizzle sends the pixie up to spot blue stone. None. Quarry?

Giant doesn’t want to let us across.

Fine, we’ll go to the quarry.

Mizzle researches … with support by Sara’s bond.
Oriorn is a creation of the Archmagus, waking up every few generations to rebuld stuff.
Ties to how changes in architecture fashion tie to the activities of the giant?
Giant may be confused by not having the Archmagus around to instruct him.
So … get blue stone for the giant? Getting guidance from the capital.

Send word back to the capital? We can travel there …

Backtracking to the capital!

Miz’s suggestion was to go to the quarry, to see if there’s a short term problem there. Long term, he thought the capital could offer the giant the same sort of guidance he (they?) used to get from the Archmagus - but maybe not something we had to go pass along personally
