MEGALOS ep. 18 - A Brief, but Restful, Interlude

Last time …

People leveled! What did they take?

We escaped from the Atlantian camp.

Aaron described how he got captured by Atlantians, and that the Professor has been captured by Imperials.

Our previous last time plans for this time …

  1. Thwart the Atlanteans ← where are they going? are they creating weapons? can we find someone higher on the food chain? find an Atlantean spirit-channelers?
  2. Get the professor ← locater we now have
  3. Xeric needs to punch the Pyrocaster. ← others want to help.
  4. Keep the Impies from getting any more dragons.

Gwen asks where to fly us …

This time …

Worried about the captured Aarons. Our Aaron knows where they were – had been on the Fire Island – but doesn’t think they are in any significant danger. Cavo pulled them away from trying to rescue the Prof.

So … lets try to rescue the Prof!

Make course for Foothold.

Let’s take a Rest! (p. 45)

  • Seirus … gives us a performance about Spirit Channelers … summons up a mysthical figure as a Shade … the mythical first king of the Faerie King invocation, lore, actions, humor. Gets a familiar! And gets Recovery back.

  • Carabas … ignores the dull story and instead plays Solitaire for +1 Grit.

  • Xeric plays a fishing-training game to relieve Stress on a Bond.

  • Auoy notices Seirus has a new friend. Because she is listening to Seirus’ tale.

(Seirus sends familiar over to yoink Carabas’ tail. Carabas uses Elective Focus to stay enrapt in his game.)

Foothold

Carabas is the first to notice the huge Impie ship at the location. Something wrankles his fur. Because IT’S ON AN INTERCEPT COURSE AND WATCHING US WITH THEIR BINOCULARS.

Run?

Xeric points out that we did want a high ranking prisoner …

So engage … but be prepared to run …

Assuming they don’t just start shooting, will send someone over on cutter to question us. Who might have information we could use.

… (we make our plans) …

A cutter heads our way, pulls up, and announces as they do, “THIS IS THE IMPERIAL GUARD. STAND DOWN. WE HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE YOU HAVE ENGAGED IN RAIDING OF OTHER EXPEDITIONS’ CLAIMS IN THE UNSHROUDED LANDS. TURN OFF YOUR SHIP, DROP YOUR WEAPONS, AND PREPARE TO BE BOARDED …”

Well, we did kinda do that at the Wind Temple …
