Last Time …
We’d saved Barry from an adult skullipede.
He shared info about the island … and that some of the Imperials had gone deeper, and down into the Mists. Fortunately … we got rebreathers!
And now …
Not too long ago, we were down the hole, saving Barry (or something like that).
Touch down … flickers of Mist … spear/slash-killed Mist monsters leave a trail for us to follow.
A chamber of eldritch light. … Carabas sneaks forward … a long-abandoned structure, some sort of building … mass (nearly a score) of imperial soldiers ahead, along with a few more imperial magi (who have started up some sort of ritual, repelling the Mist).
Also … looks like Auoy? She’s a traitor! No, she has a twin! No, she’s in two places at once!
Magus places a barrier blocking the path going forward. No sign of the Custodian.
… Auoy says it sounds like the Elder encountered before.
Xeric and Carabas set up on the north. Auoy and Seirus are on the south. The elder Eldashi seems to be able to see Auoy … “You seemed like a brash one.” The soldiers are becoming nervous.
Combat!
Seirus Undertows the nearby mooks, charges, taunts, and AoEs the Eldashi and three mooks, pulling the Eldashi forward.
Mooks rush in and whomp on Seirus. Other mooks move forward and take cover.
Hydrocaster aether-blasts Seirus. The Eldashi Vampiric Embraces Seirus and self-heals. The Eldashi dashes backs away. Draftmaster uses buffetting winds to take off the Eldashi’s Taunt.
Xeric kills a Mook, kills another Mook, teleports to the Eldashi’s zone, kills an Imperial there, Soul Eater on Eldashi, doing damage and Sick. Auoy hands out Barriers, and wounds the mages,
The Eldashi does a Blood Barrier, as does their Soldiers. Get rid of the Sick.
Autoattacks … taking out soldiers. Eldashi cannot attack Xeric (cloaked).
Turn 2
Seirus tports to and whomps on the Blood Elder.
They do a Vampiric Embrace, and raises an Imperial Soldier.
Hydrocaster goes after Carabas and Xeric with Riptide, but he avoids damage … then Choking Gas immobilizing Carabas. Attack on Seirus does no damage.
Soldiers attack Seirus. Others charge in.
Carabas pulls out more friends, makes her afraid/exposed, Phantasmagoria’s the and then just plain stabs the Blood Elder badly, dropping them to Injured.
Auoy wounds the soldiers on her way to sucking health from the Blood Elder to Seirus, then further heals Seirus (and self)
Xeric whomp whomp whomps the Blood Elder. (with some spill-over to the casters).
Blood Elder Vampiric Embraces Seirus, heals the soldiers, then dashes back to the casters. Fails to heal sick
Autoattacks. Takes down the unwounded soldier. Casters autoattack at Carabas.
Turn 3
Xeric whomps on the Blood Elder, kills her, and the casters become afraid.
Draftcaster cleanses Barriers; cannot get rid of their Sick. Hydrocaster Riptides against Xeric, Auoy, and Carabas.
Seirus Undertows both of them, damages and pulls them 1 and Taunts them.
Carabas setps in, Psything Minds them, Injring one of them.
Auoy Drains Blood from the Draftcaster, and damages the Hydrocaster, too.
Autoattacks on the Hydrocaster. Killing them! Xeric does his on the Draftcaster.
Turn 4
Auoy drains the last blood from the Draftcaster, killing them, but healing people.
Carabas’ Phantasms look … disappointed.
That’s a wrap!
… there’s a lot of blood on the floor.
And the Eldashi’s voice urges us to turn back … turn back …
Mystic flames quickly die down.
No tattoos on the casters, but 21L and 4 Chemist resources.
… and some extra healing from Auoy.
